This document is a draft, written to describe how Genetica actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not final legal text.

What Genetica is

Genetica is a consumer genetics product. You upload a raw genotype file, buy one or more packages, and receive trait predictions, polygenic score percentiles, ancestry estimates, and, with Connect, simulated children with a partner. Results are statistical estimates from published research. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a prediction about any individual person.

Accounts

You need an account to buy a package or upload a file. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe, and for the accuracy of the file you upload.

Payments

Packages are paid for in advance through our payment processor. Prices are shown before you check out. Refund requests are handled case by case; contact us before your file has been processed.

Acceptable use

Do not upload a genotype file that is not your own, or that belongs to someone who has not agreed to this processing. Do not use Genetica results to make a medical decision without talking to a clinician or genetic counselor first.

Changes

We may update these terms as Genetica changes. Continued use of the product after an update means you accept the new terms.
